I Run for Brunch: Snooze Review

During marathon training, my Saturday routine is pretty great. Run, brunch, yoga, repeat. Brunch for me means connecting with friends over good food, sharing race stories, and drinking excessive amounts of coffee. I’m always looking for a good post-run spot and this week, finally made it to Snooze: an AM eatery to check out their new summer menu.

Originally hailing from Colorado, I knew Snooze would be perfect post-workout. After all, Colorado is all about being active and enjoying life — something I can totally get behind. The extensive breakfast menu has pretty much everything you could want from a selection of benedicts to TONS of pancake options. If boozy brunch is your thing, they’ve got you covered on that front, too.

Since my visit was timed during a high mileage week I was ready to bring on the  caffeine and carbs. They brew their coffee strong, just like I like it. And the refills just kept coming (again, I’m a fan). While I’m more of a savory breakfast fan, I did give the pancake of the day a try before jumping into to a benedict. It was like eating dessert for breakfast with chocolate chips galore, definitely recommended in small doses, but well-deserved after a long run.

For my main breakfast, I decided to try the Smashed Avocado Benny. Featuring fresh smashed avocado & green chili, parmesan cheese, vine-ripened tomatoes, two poached cage free eggs, smoked cheddar hollandaise and everything bagel spices, this breakfast totally hit the spot. It’s one of the new summer additions so I’m already planning another brunch trip before the summer ends to enjoy this benny again.

I think it’s fair to say, Snooze will be taking a permanent spot in my post-long run Saturday brunch routine!

Tip: Head straight after your morning run to beat the lines. The Montrose location has plenty of outdoor seating so you don’t have to worry about bringing your sweaty self inside.
