It’s been a week since I ran my 11th marathon and my 3rd Chevron Houston Marathon. I’ve taken the week to reflect on my race and more importantly give my body a chance to rest and recover. Houston is always my favorite race of the year, and while I didn’t PR and dealt with some injuries along the way, this race was no exception.

One of the biggest adjustments for me when I moved to Houston from Hawaii was running in the winter. This year, I spent Halloween a little differently than usual. For starters, I was in NYC, and instead of indulging in candy or heading out to the bars in an adorable couples costume, my focus was elsewhere. I was preparing for the NYC Marathon where I’d run through all five boroughs of the largest city
