Holy Hills: Austin Half Race Recap

One of the things I love about Austin is that the terrain is so different than my home in Houston less than three hours away. Having moved from Hawaii where I ran hills daily, to Houston where running hills takes some planning and creativity, the Austin Half Marathon is always pretty humbling.

Race Recap: Chevron Houston Marathon

It’s been a week since I ran my 11th marathon and my 3rd Chevron Houston Marathon. I’ve taken the week to reflect on my race and more importantly give my body a chance to rest and recover. Houston is always my favorite race of the year, and while I didn’t PR and dealt with some injuries along the way, this race was no exception.

7 Cold Weather Running Tips

One of the biggest adjustments for me when I moved to Houston from Hawaii was running in the winter. While we only get a couple months of real cold, the adjustment from the hot humid weather we’re used to most of the year to chilly and cold can be tough. I love that the colder weather always seems to hit right when my Chevron Houston Marathon training schedule is peaking.
